When Ash contacted us to capture her and Ken’s wedding “in the middle of nowhere” on her parents plot of land we wondered what on earth the setting would be like. It turned out to be set in the breathtaking private nature reserve “Banghoek” near the Cederberg Mountains in South Africa. Ash and Ken had a wonderful, heartfelt celebration with many moving speeches and gestures of admiration and devotion from those they love. Everyone sat under the shade of bedouin tents to keep out of the scorching midday sun and as dusk fell guests danced in the long-lasting afterglow of sunset. I can’t get enough of the colours from this day – terracotta earth, fynbos greens, vivid yellow and scarlet proteas, bronzed skin, creamy silk – Ash altered her dear Mum’s wedding gown from the 80’s which had been fashioned after Princess Di’s!
